The Far East & South Pacific Games for The Disabled (FESPIC) were started in 1975 and Nine editions were held till 2006. From 2010 they were replaced by 1st Para Asian Games  on the lines of Paralympics and are now held in same city as Asian Games after the conclusion of Asian Games every four years.

A Strip of stamps from Malaysia on the 9th FESPIC Games held at Kuala Lumpur in 2006 is shown with Tennis  as the theme of the stamp.

India   today celebrates  its 63rd  Republic Day. The Government announced the award of 1 Ashok Chakra  Medal . Ashok Chakra is the Highest Peacetime Gallantry Award of Republic Of India . It is Awarded for most conspicuous bravery, or some act of daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice otherwise than in the face of the enemy.  The decoration may be awarded posthumously

The President of India honoured  father of Lieutenant Navdeep Singh, who was awarded Ashok Chakra Posthumously,  on behalf of a grateful Nation on 26 January 2012 at Rajpath during the Republic Day Parade


A  total of 53 Personnel have been awarded the Ashok Chakra from 1950 till 2012.

We Salute these Great Personnel , who in many cases made the Supreme sacrifices for our Well being  and laid down their lives  to protect their Countrymen.
