Two Sheetlets of 10 Stamps were issued on 17 Nov 1980 by St Helena to mark 175th Anniversary of Duke of Wellington’s Visit to St Helena. Wellington Visited St Helena on his way back from India to England in 1805 due to ill Health. He stayed at a house in St Helena called The Pavilion at Briars. His health improved during this stay and later on forces led by him defeated Napoleon at Waterloo on 18 Jun 1815. After his Victory he stayed at Napoleons Palace Elysee Bourbon in Paris . By a quirk of fate Napoleon was sent to St Helena after his defeat and stayed at the same house in Briars. Wellington even wrote a letter to C-in- C , St Helena on this Subject.
