Every year since 1916, the ‘topper’ of the Final Professional Examination is decorated with the ‘Hewett Medal’ in honor of the man who opened the portals of the college to ‘Georgians’. Dr. K. S. A major milestone in the history of this institution is it’s conversion and upgradation as the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University. This came about by an act passed on the 16th September 2002 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Sushree Mayawati. Special Cover – Kamla Nehru Ridge, Delhi – By India Post

Kamla Nehru Ridge located in North campus . It has all evidences of freedom struggle fought by the Indian activists from Delhi. It was used as a hiding venture by the activists, due to its dense greenery. The beauty of the ridge area lies in its hilly greenery which is hard to find in a city like Delhi.

Although most of the people coming to the ridge area are unknown of its historical importance and consider it as an ordinary park. Negligence of such an ancient monument of national importance has just left it as an ordinary joggers point. Adding to its importance Seismological Observatory and meteorological department of Northern Delhi are also situated in its premises only.
