A Limited number of Stalls (25 Only) are available on first Come First Serve Basis at Rs 2500 per stall . High Tea and Lunch for stall holders is being planned on Complimentary Coupons basis. Indian Stamps-Indian Naval Air Squadron 300-By India Post
The Indian Naval Air Squadron -300, (INAS 300) ,the premier fighter squadron of the Indian Navy, popularly known as “The White Tigers” is celebrating its Golden Jubilee on 7th July, 2010. at INS Hansa base at Vasco-da-Gamma in South Goa.
The squadron represents the finest attributes of courage, professionalism and esprit de corps that can be found anywhere in the armed forces. It had during the last 50 years in the front-line service distinguished itself in peace as well as in the 1971 War, a unique achievement unlikely to be surpassed by many combat units.

A Postmark used by Chandigarh PO on Reserve Bank Of India Platinum Jubilee has been brought to our notice by a Philatelic Friend . This FDC has both type cancellation .The Cancellation size seems to unusually large . We Welcome comments on this.
Indian Stamp-Robert Caldwell-By India Post
Robert Caldwell-was born at Clady, Northern Ireland, on May 7, 1814 to Scottish parents. Initially self-taught and religious, young Caldwell graduated from the university of Glasgow and was fascinated by the comparative study of languages. At 24, Caldwell arrived in Madras on January 8, 1838 as a missionary of the London Missionary Society and later joined the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel Mission (SPG). Caldwell was married in 1844 to Eliza Mault.He knew 18 languages.He was a member of the Royal Asiatic Society.He was awarded the title of LLD and DD.

The President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Devisingh Patil released a commemorative Postage Stamp in the denomination of Rupees Five along with First Day Cover. Shri A. Raja, Minister for Communications and Information Technology gave the introduction of the commemorative stamp prepared & issued by the Department of Posts.
During the last 60 years ,The Election Commission Of India has conducted 15 General Elections to the Lok Sabha and 326 general elections to state Legislative Assemblies.

Stamps India-Major General Dewan Misri Chand-By India Post
Major General Dewan Misri Chand was born on October 11, 1907 at Dehradun. He received his early education at Prince of Wales Military School, Dehradun and Royal Military College, Sandhurst (UK). He distinguished himself at Sandhurst, and received a King’s Commission into Royal Indian Army in 1927.
Whilst seeing active service in the Mohmand (NWFP) conflict, he took to flying in bi-planes the British had pressed into service, and was among the few early Indian to obtain a Flying Licence. In 1933, he won the Amateur Flying Trophy in India, and held the trophy for a record 17 years.
In 1934, he participated in the National Air Rally in USA.During his extensive world travel, he aws always received as the “Indian Flying Ace”.
Maj. Gen. Dewan Misri Chand passed away on March 13th, 1970.

Maharaja Gulab Singh (1792-1857) was the founder and first Maharaja of the state of Jammu & Kashmir.His father , Mian Kishore Singh, held a Jagir at Andarwah near Jammu. His young days were moulded by the stern hand of his grandfather who trained him in all martial arts.
Maharaja Gulab Singh is recognized as the only ruler in India’s long history who could be said to have extended the geographical boundaries of India.His conquest and annexation of Ladakh is an achievement which makes his name immortal in the history of India..

One of the oldest Boarding Schools in Asia which was founded on 28 Jul 1859 by George Edward Lynch Cotton. The Alumini of this School are known as old Cottonians. The Foundation Stone for new buildings was laid by the then Viceroy Sir John Lawrence 26 Sep 1866. Mr Ruskin Bond and Gen Dyer are alumini of this School.
