Coins  – 60 Years of India Govt. Mint, Kolkata – RBI

One Coins in the denomination of Rs 60  was released in 2013 to mark 60 Years of India Govt. Mint, Kolkata.

The present new Mint at Alipore was inaugurated by Shri C. D. Deshmukh, Honb’le Minister of Finance, Government of India on 19th March, 1952.

With the coinage operations shifting to the new Mint at Alipore, the old mint on the Strand Road was converted into a Silver Refinary for extraction of Silver and other metals. This mint was finally closed down in 1985.
