Private Maxim Cards-Lotus Temple: A Remarkable Architecture

Lotus Temple is one of the remarkable architectures of Bahai faith. It is located at Kalkaji in New Delhi. The temple looks like a lotus flower and is made of marble, cement, dolomite and sand. The temple has no restrictions for visitors and is open to people from all religions. The place provides immaculate environment for meditation, peace and wisdom. The Bahai temple was completed in 1986. Since then the temple has received recognition from all over the world for its splendid architecture and design. Lotus Temple is among the most visited monuments in India. The credit for building this beautiful structure goes to the Persian architect Fariborz Sahba from Canada.

It is about 40 meters tall surrounded by nine ponds and appears as if the temple is floating like a Lotus flower in water.

The most appraising aspect of this particular architectural masterpiece is the integration of the effervescent Indian history along with the modern engineering and architecture. The temple has to its accreditation being recognized all over the world as one of the most visited edifices in the world with almost 50 million people having visited the temple since its inception in 1986.

India post has issued the Six more stamps of new definitive series- the 10th Definitive series,These stamps are  on Gandhi – denomination 100P,Dr.B.R.Ambedkar,denomination 2ooP ,Satyajit Ray, denomination 300P, Homi Jahangir Bhabha, denomination 400P and  Mother Teresa,denomination 20ooP. These are available in sheet of 100 stamps &     70 Stamps. All stamps have colour background. All five are personlities Political leader,Spiritual leader,The great Bengali filmmaker from India, Indian nuclear physicist,Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.Twelve stamps are likely to be released in this series called “ Nation Builders” series.

J.R.D.Tata stamp has yet to come.

Stamps India- (1) Dr. Rajendra prasad, Ist President of Republic India

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was the first President of the Republic of India.

He was an independent activist and, as a leader of the Congress Party, played a prominent role in the Indian Independence Movement. He served as President of the  Constituent Assembly that drafted the constitution of the Republic from 1948 to 1950. He had also served as a Cabinet Minister briefly in the first Government of Independent India.

 He had participated actively in India’s freedom movement. Born on December 3, 1884 in the remote hamlet of Ziradei in Bihar’s Siwan district, his father was a renowned scholar of Persian and Sanskrit. He moved to Kolkata for his education. A brilliant student all throughout, he earned a Masters degree in Law, going on to complete a doctorate in law.

He plunged headlong into the Swadeshi movement and was influenced tremendously by Mahatma Gandhi. Dr. Rajendra Prasad was arrested in 1930 for participating in the Salt Satyagraha. In January 1934, a devastating earthquake struck Bihar. Rajendra Prasad was in jail during this time, but was soon released. Upon his release, he devoted himself to the task of raising funds and providing succour to the people. He collected a large sum of money to provide relief to the affected people. He set up relief committees during the Quetta earthquake of 1935 too.

He became the President of the Indian National Congress during the Bombay session in October 1934. He became the President once again when Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose resigned in 1939. He served as a Cabinet Minister for a brief period in the first government of independent India, before serving as the President of India for a period of 12 years from 1950 to 1962. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1962. He left for his heavenly abode on February 28, 1963.
