In keeping with its tradition of issuing postage stamps on Olympics since 1968, India Post released a set of four commemorative postage stamps and a souvenir sheet in New Delhi today. The stamps are a stylized portrayal of sportsmen engaged in Volleyball, Rowing, Sailing and Badminton .

London 2012 Olympic Games begin on 27th July 2012 with the theme slogan ‘Inspire a Generation’. The Olympic Games celebrate the eternal quest for excellence, and the capability of sportspersons from different nations, cultures and background to come together and compete fairly and honestly to promote peace and harmony.

The 2012 Summer Olympics Games, officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad, also known informally as London 2012, are scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July (when the opening ceremony is held) until 12 August 2012.  Over 10,000 athletes from 204 National Olympics Committees (NOCs) are expected to participate.
