Visakhapatnam is a coastal, port city, often called “The Jewel of The East Coast”  situated in the Andhra Pradesh. The city was named after Visakha, the Hindu god of valour. It is nestled among the hills of the Eastern Ghats and faces the Bay of Bengal on the east. Visakhapatnam is protected from the sea on the south by Dolphin’s Nose Hill. Dolphin’s Nose is the most prominent and unforgettable landmark in Visakhapatnam. It is a single and massive hillock of more than 350 mts height, resembles the Dolphin nose hence the name. It protects the Visakhapatnam Harbour as well as the Head Quarters of Eastern Naval Command. Visakhapatnam Port Trust’s, Light House is situated on top of the hill and guides the approaching ships to Visakhapatnam. The cancellation depicts Dolphin’s Nose Light House of Visakhapatnam.

INS Sindhughosh is the lead ship of her class of diesel-electric submarines of the Indian Navy. The submarine was commissioned in April 1986 in Riga, Latvia. This submarine is diesel-powered and has totally six motors. INS Sindhughosh was the first submarine in Indian Navy to be equipped with the Klub ZM-54E SS-N-27 anti-ship cruise missiles with a range of 220 km.

The submarines have displacement with full load of 2,300 tons while the dived displacement is 3,100 tons. The maximum diving depth is 300 meters, top speed of 18 knots, and the submarines of this class are able to operate solo for 45 days with a crew of 53. The total complement of personnel is 68 including seven officers. The submarine is 73 meter long with a beam of 10 meter.
