The honour of having the first aeroplane mail service was obtained by India, where Capt. Windham, having obtained the necessary permission from the Director-General of Post Offices in India, has inaugurated an aerial post between the Allahabad Exhibition and the receiving office at Allahabad.

This is the proof in Black color cancellation of the 1911 First Aerial Post. 

The post-mark represents an aeroplane flying over a range of mountains and bears the inscription “First Aerial Post: U.P. Exhibition,  Allahabad , 1911.” The explanation of this postmark is that the Indian Postal Authority granted permission to Captain Windham to establish an aerial post in connection with the united provinces exhibition at Allahabad, for the purpose of demonstrating the possibilities of an aerial service for the use of a troubled town.

Only 6 were made by Capt. Wyndham (Founder of the First Aerial Post) and given as gifts to dignitaries. He has signed the back of the KEVII postcard.

Philateli Exhibition At Zoological Garden Of Hannover

PHILATELIC EXHIBITION AT ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN OF HANNOVER
From June 24th 2015  to July 9th 2015  a philatelic exhibition was held at Zoological Garden of Hannover. The philatelic exhibition honors the 150th anniversary of the foundation ZOO Hannover. The philatelic exhibition was organized by the German Collector Group ARGE ZOOLOGIE with exhibits about the topic animals in more as 40 frames. During this event the Collector Group was held  his meeting for 2015 at Zoological Garden of Hannover.

On June 27th a pictorial postmark featuring  a Grey Langur and a stationery (postcard) was issued in limited edition of 200 pieces.Thte postcard is featuring two Grey Langurs at Pre-stamp of 45 cents Euro(Inland postage rate for postcards). On the left side is featuring a group of Grey Langurs and in the background a Indian Elephant. Both topics are Indian themes.
Some postcards are available with Mr Wolfgang Beyer, Vice Chairman of the German Collector Group ARGE ZOOLOGIE as member of the GermanTopical Association VPhA and German Philatelic Association BDPh.

Sayajirao Gaekwad III was the Maharaja of Baroda State from 1875 to 1939, and is notably remembered for reforming much of his state during his rule. On assuming the reins of government, some of his first tasks included education of his subjects, uplifting of the downtrodden, and judicial, agricultural and social reforms, . He played a key role in the development of Baroda’s textile industry, and his educational and social reforms included among others, a ban on child marriage, legislation of divorce, removal of untouchability, spread of education, development of Sanskrit, ideological studies and religious education as well as the encouragement of the fine arts. The cancellation depicts statue of Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad.
(Note: As the old cachet was worn out, new cachet was ordered by SSP, Vadodara West Division in year 2009 and new cachet was received by Vadodara Philatelic Bureau in November 2009)

Permanent Pictorial Cancellation (2) – Chamar Dharini – Vadodara – Gujarat

The cancellation depicts exquisite Jain bronze statue of Chaurie Bearer (Chamar Dharini) which was found in Akota area of Baroda and belong to 8th Century A.D. It is now exhibited in the Baroda Museum. Despite its small size, the figure has an aesthetically impressive form. The graceful figure stands in the three bedded (tribhanga) posture on a lotus pedestal symbolizing its importance in the pantheon. The urah suli or the necklace reveals the vintage of the statue as being of the 8th century A.D., its stylistic affiliations being in the directions of the Northern Pratihara idion.The cancellation has been introduced at Vadodara HO on 16.01.1989.
