One Euro Cent– Advanced model of  Athenian trireme,the largest warship afloat for more than 200 years sine Athenian Democracy (5th Century BC).

Two Euro Cent-Depicts a Corvette ,a type of ship used during Greek War of Independence(1821-1827).

Five Euro Cent-Coin shows a modern sea going Tanker.

One Coins in the denomination of Rs 60  was released in 2013 to mark 60 Years of India Govt. Mint, Kolkata.

The present new Mint at Alipore was inaugurated by Shri C. D. Deshmukh, Honb’le Minister of Finance, Government of India on 19th March, 1952.

With the coinage operations shifting to the new Mint at Alipore, the old mint on the Strand Road was converted into a Silver Refinary for extraction of Silver and other metals. This mint was finally closed down in 1985.

This Mint was the first to successfully process pure nickel for coinage purposes in the continent of Asia.

The present daily average output of coins at Alipore Mint is approximately 5 to 6 million pieces. In addition to domestic coinage, the Mint has undertaken coinage orders from foreign countries. Besides coinage production, Alipore Mint produced different commemorative and development oriented coins for last several decades and even before. It also worked as a centre for issue of gold bars in exchange of unrefined gold tendered by licensed dealers.

This Mint has been producing medals of various types. The well-equipped Medal Department has so far produced using gold, silver, copper, nickel. The medals for defence, educational institutions, social service, badges, token etc. production of Medallions for National and International Film Festivals are also the pride of Alipore Mints. This Mint undertakes production of Medals for civilian & military awards instituted by the Government of India such as Bharat Ratna, Padma Shri, Pama Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Paramvir Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Vir Chakra, Shaurya Chakra to name a few.
