Dear philatelist,

BIRDPEX is an international philatelic exhibition on “birds” that takes place every four years.

After Christchurch (New Zealand , 1990), Rosenheim (Germany, 1994), London (United

Kingdom, 1998), Leek (the Netherlands, 2002), Nørresundby (Denmark, 2006) and

Antwerp (Belgium, 2010), the 7th edition will take place in Poitiers (France)

Every “bird” exhibitor can participate – no qualification needed – in the classes thematic

philately, maximaphily, open class, postal history, traditional philately, one frame and

youth.

Special Regulations

BIRDPEX 7 (IREX)

Art. 1 These special regulations IREX are applicable for the competitive exhibition BIRDPEX VII.

Art. 2 Participation is open to all exhibits “ornithology” (birds). Entrants can apply for all competitive classes, adultsand youth (see entry form).

Art. 3 The exhibition will be held from 1 till 4 May 2014 in the halls of Poitiers, road Salvador Allende, 86000 Poitiers(FRANCE)

Art. 4 This exhibition will be governed by the regulations of the F. F. A. P. and also the special and complementaryregulations of the different classes.

Art. 5 Exhibitors shall apply their entry forms (with copy of the plan) no later than 15 December 2013 to theorganizing committee of BIRDPEX VII (Jean-François Duranceau 2 rue de Berry 86170 AVANTON France). Aseparate entry form will be required for each exhibit (with report of previous results and number of wanted frames).

Art. 6 Notification of acceptance will be sent to the participants by 31 December 2013 at the latest.

Art. 7 Every collection should be presented on separate pages. Each frame can be filled with 16 sheets A4.Collections in albums as a supplement on the collection shown will not be taken into account. The talking with thejury will take place on Sunday 4 May on 10.30 am (only after subscription before).

Art. 8 The entry fee will be € 10,00 per frame. For the youth class there will be no entry fee. For the one frame classentry fee will be € 15,00 per frame. All costs of transport of the exhibits will be chargeable to the exhibitor. All bankcharges will be chargeable tot the exhibitor. Art. 9 The way of sending and delivery of exhibits to the organizing committee will be announced later. This alsoapplies for sending back and demounting of the exhibits.

Art. 10 The organizing committee will take an Insurance against damage, theft and fire for all exhibits. The chargesare on account of the A.P.P. (organizing committee). The committee will take all reasonable precautions to ensurethe security and safety of all exhibits whilst they are in their possession. The liability shall be expressly governed andlimited as stated in section 11 of the IREX.

Art. 11 No responsibility, whether as the result of negligence or otherwise, is accepted by the organizers of POITIERS2014, BIRDPEX VII, the A.P.P. nor the officers, directors or members of any thereof, nor by the organizing committee,nor its employees or voluntary and paid assistants, nor the national commissioners, nor the members of the jury, forany loss or injury suffered by exhibitors as a result of entering this competition.

Art. 12 The organizing committee assumes the right to amend this IREX should it be necessary and take suitablemeasures for all cases which are not foreseen. The decisions taken are definite and can’t be disputed.

“STAMPMANIA’S – VADOPHILEX” At Baroda 27th, 28th April, 2013

Baroda Philatelic Society is celebrating 38 years of its establishment. Established on 27th April, 1975, Baroda Philatelic Society is proud to have continuously served the philatelist fraternity for 38 years. It is one of the oldest philatelic societies in the state of Gujarat.

As part of celebration of 38 years of its existence, a non-competitive one frame philatelic exhibition “STAMPMANIA’S – VADOPHILEX” will be organized on 27th and 28th April 2013 at Akruti Art Gallery, Beside Kirti Mandir, Opp. S. S. G. Hospital, Vadodara.

There will be a display of exhibits of members of Baroda Philatelic Society and invitees on various subjects in about 40 frames.

Invites everyone to visit the STAMPS EXPO to be held on 11th and 12th of August, 2012

at centrally located Dharmaprakash Hall  [non air-conditioned], 10 Raja Annamalai Road, Purasawalkam, Chennai 600084.  This is a non-competitive Expo and will open from 10 am

till 7 pm on both the days.  We hope that this Expo fulfils the long felt need of the Stamp collectors who yearns for a regular Stamp Shows in and around Chennai.

The Stamps Expo will showcase the culture, history, heritage, flora & fauna thro postage

stamps.  The school children and general public will be treated with these colourful and

educative stamps.

There will be limited number of 25 Stamp Dealer Stalls from all over India to cater to the ever growing needs of the stamp collectors.  The Dealer Stall will be allotted on first come first allotment basis on payment of Rs. 4,000/- payable to South India Philatelists’ Association.  NO FOOD will be served inside the Hall as per the Hall’s management policy.  However, there are some good restaurants nearby.

A Philatelic Auction will take place between 3 to 6 pm on Sunday 12th August 2012 at the

Venue.  Philatelists who are interested to participate in the Auction for selling their items need to send the materials and their starting bid price at the latest by 2nd August 2012.  The decision of the Auction Committee is final on all aspects of the Rules for Auction and is binding on all the participants.

MAHAPEX 2012 – Maharashtra & Goa Circle Philatelic Exhibition

Pune will host the four-day 11th state-level philatelic exhibition, Mahapex 2012, at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch from January 13 next year.

After 25 years, Pune will be hosting such an exhibition for Maharashtra and Goa. The Prospectus of ‘Mahapex 2012’ was unveiled by Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra circle, Faiz-Ur-Rehman, on Friday at Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management.

The postmaster general of Pune region, Colonel (retd) KC Mishra, mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Yogesh Behl were present on the occasion. Among Philatelists Pratisad Nurgaonkar, Basti Solanki, Dixit, Col. Dutta, Mrs.Dutta, Col.Pujara, Vinayak Avate from Pune, Suketu Zaveri and Surendra Kotadiya from Mumbai, P.G.Bhargave from Nasik, M.J.Karajagi from Solapur and Deepak Modi from Jalna were also present.

Rehman said that it would be a big-budget event, where renowned Indian philatelists would be participating. The show will host 400 exhibition frames exhibited by over 300 philatelists from the two states.

News – Philatelic cum Numismatic Display on “Pope John Paul II and Christianity” – Trichur

Shrine Bassilica of our Lady of Dolours and Trichur Philatelic Club is jointly organising a three day Philatelic cum Numismatic display on “Pope John Paul II and Christianity” from 29th April 2011 to 01st May 2011 on the occasion of Beatification of Pope John Paul II at Vatican which coincides with 25th Anniversary of John Paul II visit to Trichur, Kerala.

Venue: Bassilica Jubilee Hall, Trichur.

A Special cover on Pope John Paul II will also be released on this occasion.
