Stamps on Costumes – Spain

A Beautiful set of Stamps on Costumes was issued by Spain from 1967 to 1970 under the theme Provincial Costumes.

The Second  Set of Four Stamps is shown . Each stamp is 6 PTA denomination.

The Costumes of Provinces shown are

Avila  , Badajoz,  Baleares , Barcelona

 

Birds on Stamps – Iceland

Two stamps were issued by Iceland on Arctic Tern in 1972. It is a seabird from the Tern Family Sternidae. Found in Arctic and sub Arctic regions of Europe Asia and North America. Srongly Migratory these are medium sized birds.

First Day Cover – Sir Edmund Hillary

An FDC and a set of Five stamps were released  on 05 November 2008 by New Zealand on Sir Edmund Hillary who was a multi faceted personality apart from being the First to reach atop Mt Everest.

50c – Edmund Hillary

$ 1.00 – Hillary and Tenzing on Everest

$ 1.50 – Hillary leading Trans Atlantic Expedition in 1958 to South Pole

$ 2.00 – Himalayan Trust by Hillary for social causes

$ 2.50 – Knight of Garter, Honoured by Britain , India , New Zealand and Nepal. Only living person to appear in $5 dollar New Zealand currency note.

 

 

It is really very sad to hear untimely demise of Mr. Mookerjea.

News – Mr T K Mookerjea Passes away

We are extremely sorry to inform our readers about the sad demise of  Mr T K Mookerjea a Founder member of West Delhi Philatelic Club, actively involved in club activities from Delhi on 30th October, 2011.

WE at INDIAN STAMP GHAR shall miss him and pray to  the ALMIGHTY on behalf of all our Readers to Grant peace to the departed Noble Soul and give strength and courage to the family to bear this  irrepairable loss .

Mr T K Mookerjea, Founder member of West Delhi Philatelic Club, actively involved in club activities has unfortunately got cerebral attack/Stroke, lead to his brain dead and admitted in Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj.

Let us all members of club pray for his good health and speedy recovery.
