Dear Mr. Radhakrishnan,

In case it gives you some comfort why do not you try to sample the Bureau in National capital.

Then you can sample one in Coimbatore and one in Cochin.

You will be surprised to know that 90% of philately counters in Delhi and NCR , as per the list shown in website , does not have a fucntional counter and the staff are totally ignorant about the word Philately - No joke, in one place I was given a post card with message " Philately is the king of hobby and hobby of the kings" . LOL ...

Why to ask - "Why this exorbitant rate?", simply do not place order. But there are so many people who are already registered to get My Stamp on this rate. As Personalised Stamps (My Stamps) do not bear any philatelic value, so we should not book any order on any rate.

Quite an unique one, as this is the first time in the history that a special cover was released atop a glacier. The carried cover is also available with the signatures of Chief PMG, J&K and Army commander Northern command, who carried the covers to Siachen Glacier from Leh and re leased them at Siachen Glacier. The cover was carried thro Army helicopters.

Orders can be had with Philately Group, Chief PMG office J&K, Srinagar 190001 (email: js.johnsamuel@gmail.com )

This is a unique carried cover on Kashmir Rail. Apart from the photo of the special Kashmir Rail, the cover depicts the rail route, the train stations covered under Kashmir Rail, the mustard field of Kashmir and the background of Kashmir valley. Further, Very few are aware of the fact that Kashmir Rail is the only one rail network that is not linked to the other part of the train network in India since Kashmir rail is yet to be connected with Udampur and Jammu. Orders for the. Carried cover can be placed with Philately Group, Chief PMG Office, J&K, Srinagar 191001 along with cheque or DD

Please include this info in your website. Thanks

I think the situation is same everywhere.
We only cry hoarse only when our on interest is hurt.

I, myself have visited few bureaus, and faced similar situation in few places.

Like in Chandigarh GPO (please remember the lady in charge is extra ordinarily helpful to all without bias) I have heard comments like "most of you purchase only two to four stamps then what is wrong when I buy many". Some " so - called gentleman" can go all the way to get their wishes (scrupulous or unscrupulous) fulfilled.

In my view a philatelist turns in to a greedy dealer ( I am not talking about the born dealers for whom philately is nothing other than making money; and, the way most of them stores their stamps is scandalous) only when their hope of appreciation has surpassed the realm of reality due to the realization that there is none in the family to whom the precious collection can be bequeathed as heirloom. Most important is " there is none in the family...." Why not donate the whole collection such that his / her name is carried over by his/ her prodigy ..like donating eyes. Dealer too are needed in the food pyramid of Philately and I have nothing against a reasonable dealer who pays respect to his stamps (ware) and deals in transparent manner without cheating small philatelist by using nefarious connection as stated in the post.

Just for information I have come across one Professional philatelist who stores his ware in most expensive mounts and albums - but there are very few like them.

Let me see how long does it take to convert me from a fresher to a greedy dealer?!!!

I deeply regret to learn about the sad demise of Mr. A S Mittal. We were old friends . I had first correspondence with him in 1971 & first meeting with him in 1973, after that we exchanged several letters. Whenever I visited Jaipur he was a great host with all love & affection. He has not given me several good items for my collection but also guide me time to time. He was a very kind man. This is big loss not only for the Philatelists of Rajasthan but of Indian Philately. I always remember him.
