A Special Commemorative Postal Stamp marking the Golden Jubilee of Goa’s Liberation was released on 19.12.2011. in Panaji in the presence of Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Smt. Manjula Prasher Secretary, Posts, Government of India.

Releasing the stamp, which shows freedom fighters marching with the Indian flag in the backdrop of the lighthouse of Aguada Fort, Shri Digambar Kamat said the stamp captured the spirit of the liberation struggle, and thanked the Postal Department for the efforts in bringing out the stamp. Smt Manjula Prasher in her address said that the Postal Department has done significant work in Goa including vastly increasing the number of post offices since Liberation, thereby taking various schemes of India Post to every nook and corner of Goa.

In 1952 the Les Casquets Lighthouse was electrified. The Golden Jubilee of this event was celebrated with the issue of Five stamps depicting the Light Sources of the  Lighthouse.

A set of  Stamps  issued by Costa Rica  to mark 50th Anniversary of Rotary International in 1955. One of the stamps shows a Lighthouse.

Sabine Pass Lighthouse - A 44c stamps was issued on Sabine Pass Lighthouse , Louisiana. It is a historic lighthouse on Louisiana side of River Sabine which started operation in 1857 and was deactivated in 1952.

Sand Island Lighthouse – A  44c stamps was issued on Sand Island Lighthouse , Alabama. It is a historic lighthouse on Northern tip of Sand Island in Lake Superior which started operation in 1881 and was deactivated in 1980.

SABINE PASS LIGHTHOUSE LOUISIANA, SAND ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE ALABAMA

A Paquebot  cover posted on board SCI Ship “MV TULSIDAS ” on leaving a Bombay port and was handed in at Singapore where Paquebot/ Postmark applied  21 Mar 1990.

Stamps used are related to Maritime Theme -Stamp on  INS Vikrant and Stamp on Lighthouse at Minicoy

A Booklet with Four stamps was issued by Aland on Lighthouses. Aland is the smallest province of Finland. The stamps were issued in 1992 and all are 2.10 Denomination . The lighthouses are  Ranno , Lagskar , Salskar and Market .

Kadallur Point Lighthouse was established on 20th October, 1909 to mark the submerged rock “Vellayam Kallu”. The lighthouse is majestically standing and proudly serving the seafarers for the last 100 years.
