Pictorial Cancellations – India – Gandhi Ashram
Gandhiji founded satyagrah Ashram on the banks of river Sabarmati in 1917. This now Known as Sabarmati ashram.
A Pictorial cancellation on Sabarmati Ashram – Ahmedabad was introduced at Gandhi Ashram Post Office Ahmedabad on 30 Jan 1995 showing a Spinning wheel.

Pictorial Cancellations – India – Gandhi
On his return from Africa Gandhiji founded his first Ashram on 25 May 1915 at Kochrab Village in Ahmedabad and named it “Satyagraha Ashram”.
A Pictorial cancellation on Kochrab Satyagraha Ashram Smarak – Ahmedabad was introduced at Ellisbridge Post Office Ahmedabad on 30 Jan 1998.

The School at RAJKOT where Gandhiji studied from Standard I to VII during the Years 1880 to 1887 was Known as Alfred High School and its foundation was laid on 17 Oct 1853. The name of the school was later changed to Mohandas Gandhi Vidyalaya on 02 Oct 1971.

India got its Independence on 15th august,1947.The postage stamp of free India was not issued on that day but to celebrate the independence,The DOP came out with a slogan “Jai Hind ” as a cancellation on the letters which were posted from few post offices.
