2012 London Olympics -Numismatic Covers on 1972 Olympics - GERMANY Munich in erstwhile West Germany hosted the Summer Olympics in 1972. A special numismatic cover with specilal cancellation was released on 21 Jun 1997 to commemorate the 25 years of Munich hosting the Summer Olympic Games.
