Sir Mark Cubbon was born in Isle Of Man on 02 Oct 1785. He was granted Cadetship in Indian Army in 1801 and took Mysore as his second Home . He was appointed Commissioner of Mysore in 1834 and rose to the rank of Lt General in 1854. A sound administrator the Province of Mysore remained calm even during 1857 under him and the Cubbon Park in Bangalore is named in his honour.

Isle of Man issued three stamps in his honour on 02 Oct 1985 to mark his Birth Bicentenary. Two of the three stamps are related to his association with India.

A new type of alignment mark has been seen along with Traffic Lights on stamps printed at ISP, Nashik.  NINETEEN (19) Issues of 2009  were issued with this  new type of alignment mark. The Eighth  Issue of 2010 with this TL mark is Princely state issue. (stamp nos 25 to 28 with this type alignment mark)

Old Type – one horizontal line ,one vertical line  cutting the horizontal at 90* to divide into four quadrants and a circle in Centre.

New Type -  A square divided into four quadrants by one horizontal and vertical line intersecting and a smaller square inside which is totally shaded black.

India Post issued a set of Four stamps and a Miniature Sheet on Princely States on 06 Oct 2010. This issue is part of INDIPEX – 2011 PROMOTION .The states are Indore (Holkar) , Bamra , Sirmoor and Cochin Anchal.

INDIA POST had issued the CWG 2010 stamps on 03 Oct 2010 with Rupee denomination in new design but again the denomination in Princely state issued on 06 Oct 2010 is in old Pattern ’500′.
