The Amar Mahal Palaceis a palace in Jammu, India which has now been converted into a Museum. The Amar Mahal Palace was planned by a French architect, in 1862.
Once upon a time the Amar Mahal of Jammu served as the residence of Raja Amar Singh. This palace has now been turned to a museum, which is maintained and taken care of by the Hari- Tara Charitable Trust. It is popularly known as the Amar Mahal Palace Museum.
The most important attraction of the museum in Amar Mahal, Jammu is the famous golden throne. This golden sofa is made of 120 kg pure gold. There are images of lions embedded on this throne. This elegant piece is preserved and displayed in a hexagonal room.
