Readers Desk- Bitter Truth-Experience Of Philatelic Bureau Vadodara
Dec 29th, 2009 by IndianStampGhar.com
Sir,
We about 8 persons had come to Stampmania2009, on 17th morning visited the Philatelic Bureau to buy available material.
The staff there refused to show us anything stating that everything will be sold at the exhibition counter. We all came empty handed.
The next day I bought 2 Presentation Folders of Scared Heart School Chennai, in which there were no Information Sheet. On bringing this to their notice, I was very rudely replied that I should have checked while buying. How can any one check on the spot where so many people were jostling with each. It is impossible to open the plastic cover, open the folder and check. It is matter of Rs 2 of each of I S, when we are paying Rs 100/- why we should take incomplete set. I was told to come later for this also.
After two visits they gave me only one I S, stating that stock is exhausted. It was very unpleasant experience. I noticed that the staff behaviour was far from lowest levels even with other philatelist. They are the revenue generators for the Dept then why this step motherly treatment.I would rather stop going to such exhibitions , when we travel such long distances for this type of treatment. The arrangements also were poor. The drinking water was also not provided, people had to pay Rs 5/ for a tiny bottle, only on the second day water was provided.
